Sportec Solutions

As a joint venture between Deltatre and the DFL Group with locations in Munich, Cologne and Hamburg, Sportec Solutions has been developing pioneering solutions in the fields of match data and sports technology since 2016. Sportec Solutions supplies products and services to national and international sport associations, leagues, clubs and media companies. Its work involves state-of-the-art methods for the collection, analysis and distribution of live match data. Cooperation with all relevant stakeholders worldwide and academic institutions enables the ongoing expansion of data processing and boosts product development. In addition, Sportec Solutions provides support in many other areas of sports technology, including official services such as goal-line technology and centralised services for the use of the video assistant.

In 2020, Deltatre and the DFL further expanded their joint subsidiary and reinforced its international focus. As a result of this development, the company has operated as an Aktiengesellschaft (German stock corporation – AG) ever since, in which the Deltatre Group holds 51 per cent of the shares and the DFL 49 per cent.

Since the start of the 2017-18 season, Sportec Solutions has had operational responsibility for the collection, storage, quality assurance and distribution of the DFL’s Official Match Data. Sportec Solutions maintains the official Bundesliga database, containing all the historical data since the first Bundesliga season in 1963-64 and offering a unique depth of data since the start of the 1990s, and delivers the DFL’s exclusive Official Match Data to its clubs, licensees, partners and clients.

Sportec Solutions cooperates with renowned companies and universities to make innovative product development possible through expanded data processing. Sportec Solutions also provides support in other areas of sports technology, in respect of the video assistant, goal-line technology and the Electronic Performance and Tracking System (EPTS), for example.
