Flood disaster: DFL and DFB set up solidarity fund

16 July 2021 – Joint statement from the DFL and DFB:

“The images of flooding and devastation, the scale of this disaster, have left us shocked and horrified. Our thoughts are with the families of those who have died, the injured, and the many people in a desperate situation. Like after the 2013 floods, the DFL and DFB intend to make a financial contribution to the assistance for flood victims and therefore to establish a joint fund of three million euros. This will not ease the emotional pain. But we hope that, together, we can at least provide some support. We take solidarity in this crisis situation for granted.”

The DFB has also contacted UEFA, which has likewise pledged support.
