Hans-Joachim Watzke has been the 1st Deputy Speaker of the DFL e.V. Executive Committee since February 2022 and is currently interim Speaker of the DFL e.V. Executive Committee. He also serves as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH and 1st Vice President of the German Football Association (DFB).

Born in Marsberg (North Rhine-Westphalia) in 1959, Hans-Joachim Watzke was appointed Managing Director of Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA at the height of Borussia Dortmund’s financial crisis in February 2005. He has been Chairman of the Management Board since 1 January 2006. The Business Studies graduate is also the sole shareholder
