DFL announces fixtures for the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 until Matchday 30
3 March 2022 – The DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga today set the exact schedule for the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 up to and including Matchday 30 of the current 2021-22 season.
In the Bundesliga, Matchday 28 will feature two encounters between teams in the top third of the table, with SC Freiburg hosting FC Bayern München (Saturday, 2 April, 3:30 p.m. CEST) and Borussia Dortmund going head-to-head with RB Leipzig (Saturday, 2 April, 6:30 p.m. CEST). One week later, on Matchday 29, the programme includes the Berlin derby between Hertha Berlin and 1. FC Union Berlin (Saturday, 9 April, 6:30 p.m. CEST). On Matchday 30, Borussia Mönchengladbach welcomes 1. FC Köln for the Rhine derby (Saturday, 16 April, 6:30 p.m. CEST), while RB Leipzig, currently fourth in the table, will visit Bayer 04 Leverkusen, who currently sits in third place (Sunday, 17 April, 7:30 p.m. CEST).
In the race for promotion in the Bundesliga 2, the upcoming fixtures feature a whole host of clashes between teams at the top end of the table. On Matchday 29, FC St. Pauli will meet SV Werder Bremen and FC Schalke 04 will face 1. FC Heidenheim 1846 (both Saturday, 9 April, 1:30 p.m. CEST), before 1. FC Nürnberg hosts SV Darmstadt 98 (Saturday, 9 April, 8:30 p.m. CEST). Matchday 30 will see Hamburger SV meet Karlsruher SC (Saturday, 16 April, 8:30 p.m. CEST), SV Darmstadt 98 play FC Schalke 04 and SV Werder Bremen take on 1. FC Nürnberg (both Sunday, 17 April, 1:30 p.m. CEST).
Due to laws around public holidays, no Bundesliga or Bundesliga 2 matches will take place on Good Friday (15 April). Instead, as things stand, the schedule for Matchday 30 includes four matches in the Bundesliga and five Bundesliga 2 matches on Easter Sunday (17 April). Depending on progress in the UEFA Europa League, the DFL reserves the right to move the Bundesliga match between 1. FC Union Berlin and Eintracht Frankfurt, which is currently scheduled for Easter Sunday (5:30 p.m. CEST) to Saturday, 16 April (3:30 p.m. CEST).
The next set of exact fixtures for the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 are expected in calendar week 12, to be announced between 21 and 25 March, and will take the progress of international club competitions into account.
