27 April 2023 – Bundesliga International and the CANAL+ Group have agreed a renewal of its broadcasting rights deal with Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 in Sub-Saharan Africa and Mauritius, extending the partnership until the conclusion of the 2027-28 season.
The deal ensures that CANAL+, which has broadcast the Bundesliga since the start of the 2020-21 season, remains the home of the Bundesliga for French-speaking fans across 48 countries of Sub-Saharan Africa (excluding South Africa) and Mauritius. In addition, CANAL+ also retains the right to produce broadcasts in both French and local language in selected countries.
Fans can follow the action from the Bundesliga, as well as the German Supercup and the all-important Bundesliga play-off matches that take place at the end of the season. In addition, the two organisations will work together to promote football at all levels as well as bringing the excitement of the Bundesliga even closer to fans throughout Africa.
Off the pitch, we will continue to work closely with our trusted partner CANAL+ to deliver authentic Bundesliga Experiences to the fans watching week in and week out.
