DFL New Year Reception

This kick-off event is now traditional: The DFL has held its New Year Reception since 2008 and it has become a firmly established fixture in many diaries, with numerous guests being welcomed every January. In addition to officials from the 36 clubs that make up the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2, the event is attended by representatives from the worlds of sport, media, politics and business. Past participants include national coach Joachim Löw following the German team’s victory at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and Philipp Lahm, ambassador of the German Football Association (DFB), in 2018 after Germany successfully won the right to host EURO 2024.
