Sportcast GmbH

Sportcast GmbH is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the DFL based in Cologne. Since the 2006-07 season, it has acted as host broadcaster and produced the basic signal for all matches in the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2, as well as the relegation play-offs and the Supercup, for the national and international rights holders. Sportcast is one of the world’s largest producers of live sports broadcasts in HD. Since 2008-09, it has also produced all the matches in the DFB-Pokal.

In addition to producing the basic signal, Sportcast is responsible for the contribution and global distribution of the live TV signal. It also makes weekly live games and highlights shows available via satellite in English with international graphics. Furthermore, Sportcast is responsible for running the German Football Archive (DFA), the world’s largest digital football archive. The Group also includes the subsidiaries HD SAT Communication and LIVECAST TV Produktion.
