Bundesliga International launches invitation to tender for stickers, trading cards and NFTs for the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2
9 March 2022 – On behalf of DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga e.V. and DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH, Bundesliga International GmbH is launching an invitation to tender for stickers, trading cards and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for the seasons 2023-24 onwards. The invitation to tender concerns global license rights for the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 in relation to sticker products, trading card games and trading card collections, each including NFTs.
NFTs are digital assets that are made unique by means of individual encryption. In addition to digital player cards in the form of NFTs, the tender also includes video rights that can be implemented in the form of NFT moments (NFT-based video clips from the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2).
Rights packages can be acquired either individually or together as a bundle. The respective packages include licence rights to both physical and digital products.
Interested companies can now register until 12:00 CET 16 March 2022. The registration form can be accessed via the following link: Tender for stickers, trading cards und NFTs for the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2.
According to the provisional schedule, Bundesliga International GmbH will send out the procedure letter by mid-March, which contains information such as the remainder of the schedule and the rules for the conduct of the tendering procedure, to interested companies that have registered properly and within the specified time. Furthermore, the intention is to make the tender documents containing the exact scope and contents of the rights packages available to the companies that meet the requirements of the procedure letter from the end of March. The tender procedure is scheduled to conclude in the second quarter of 2022.
