23 August 2024 – Bundesliga International and Indonesian-based IPTV platform Telkomsel IndiHome have agreed a deal to show the Bundesliga for the 2024-25 season.

Kicking off this Friday, IndiHome will show a minimum of five matches each matchday, covering each of the five kick-off time slots over the entire weekend. All matches will be broadcasted on Allplay Entertainment, IndiHome TV’s in-house channel, ensuring seamless access for all viewers.

I am excited to work with IndiHome, who are committed to creating an engaging and exciting product, both on and off screen, and for us to be able to deliver the best of the Bundesliga to fans throughout Indonesia.

Peer Naubert, Chief Marketing Officer, Bundesliga International

IndiHome is an IPTV media service focused on utilising innovations to create a sustainable and customer-centric service. As part of the deal with Bundesliga International, IndiHome will broadcast a localised weekly Bundesliga show, as well as studio shows for the biggest matches each season.

The two organisations will also work together on marketing campaigns throughout the season, including watch parties for fans and in-store branding opportunities at GraPARI stores, the Telkomsel customer service centres throughout Indonesia.

Bundesliga International Chief Marketing Officer Peer Naubert said: “We know that football is popular in Indonesia, but we also know that everyone loves to watch football in their own way. More than half of Indonesia’s population is between the ages of 18-39, and so we need to meet the fans where they are and provide different options for them to enjoy the Bundesliga.

“I am excited to work with IndiHome, who are committed to creating an engaging and exciting product, both on and off screen, and for us to be able to deliver the best of the Bundesliga to fans throughout Indonesia.”

Telkomsel’s Vice President Digital Lifestyle, Nirwan Lesmana said: “We are excited to cooperate with Bundesliga International to offer high-quality football content to our customers. This collaboration reflects our dedication, driven by the Indonesian spirit to innovate and provide top-notch services that enhance both the quality and variety of sports entertainment on IndiHome TV. By bringing the Bundesliga to Indonesia, we are not just broadcasting matches, but also creating a more engaging and immersive experience for football fans across the country.”

The DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga has been working closely with organisations in Indonesia to support the development of football at all levels, which was formalised in June 2023 when the DFL signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) in June 2023. Since then, in September 2023, the Indonesia U17 national team came to Germany as part of a five week-long “Bundesliga Training Camp”, ahead of the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
