DFL General Assembly 2022: Exchange on strategic ideas

17 August 2022 – At the DFL General Assembly today, DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga informed the clubs of the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 about its latest considerations for the future of German professional football. These include exploring the option of a strategic partnership that would bring the league and the clubs growth capital and know-how in areas set to play a crucial role in the future. DFL CEO Donata Hopfen informed the representatives of the 36 professional clubs about the status quo of the relevant working group, comprising representatives from the DFL and the clubs, and deployed by the DFL Executive Committee. Next, a formal process will begin to further map out and specify potential paths for a strategic partnership and, in the coming months, to prepare a proposal that will be decided upon by the 36 professional clubs.
