DFL wins „Eyes & Ears“-Award for „Football as it’s meant to be“
19 November 2019 – The DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga is among the winners at the 21st International Eyes & Ears Awards in Munich. Each year, the prestigious awards recognize creative, innovative and effective design, promotion and brand communication. The DFL received the award for “Best on air programme spot: Sports”, ahead of Red Bull TV and RTL, for its “poetry trailer” which conveys the uniqueness of the Bundesliga and is used in the context of the DFL’s global branding featuring the leagues’s international slogan “Football as it’s meant to be”.
According to the jury, „the DFL manages to create more than just a spot about football”, which is “highly poetic and memorable” and highlights “what the Bundesliga stands for: a unique stadium atmosphere combined with close personal contact“.
The spot was created and produced in cooperation with the DFL’s Corporate and Brand Communications, Public Affairs department together with the subsidiary DFL Digital Sports and the Berlin based lead agency of the DFL “The Brand Orchestra”. The clip was distributed among others by the DFL’s international media partners as well as on the global Bundesliga digital channels.
