The native of Paderborn, born in 1978, completed a degree in business administration at business-focused university Fachhochschule der Wirtschaft (FHDW) in his home town, before earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Tampa (USA). After gaining some initial professional experience at adidas AG (Herzogenaurach), he joined Siemens Nixdorf AG, later Wincor-Nixdorf AG / Diebold Nixdorf AG, (Paderborn) in 2005, initially as Finance Manager and then becoming Financial Director, before moving to SC Paderborn 07 in the autumn of 2019. Since July 2024, he has been the managing director at Hertha BSC. The A license-holder and active member of the Bund Deutscher Fußball-Lehrer (Association of German Football Coaches) has been a member of the Supervisory Board of DFL GmbH since the 2022 General Assembly.
