08.05.2018 - “SportsInnovation 2018” came to an end on Wednesday focusing on the topics of “broadcast” and “stadium experience”. At the innovation trade fair organised by Messe Düsseldorf in partnership with the DFL, the 47 exhibitors gave further insights into the sports technologies of the future to 923 guests from 21 countries. Aspects covered under the “broadcast” topic included a look at Augmented Reality graphics from new perspectives as well as the use of numerous camera systems, some of which were used in the production of a football match for the very first time. In addition, the entire production chain from signal generation to broadcast on the various devices was explained by the DFL subsidiary Sportcast. Dr Holger Blask, DFL Director Audiovisual Rights and member of the Executive Committee, Jason Wormser, VP/Production FOX Soccer at FOX Sports US, Stefan Wistuba, Head of Production at HBS, and Knut Feischmann, TV Director, took part in a discussion on the future development of sports broadcasting.
